We had a great stay at the Sugar Loaf Lodge! Truly such a gem in the Sedona area! The rooms, linens, and towels were sparkling clean. Parking is easy, right outside your room. They have a breakfast bar each morning with coffee, simple pastries, fruit options, and yogurt, which was included in the stay. The owners are so kind and welcoming and gave us local food and hiking recommendations. I would highly recommend staying here if you are coming to the Sedona area and it would be my first choice if I were to return! Thanks for a great stay!
We had a great three night stay! The rooms aren’t fancy but are comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the hot tub & fire table in the evening and especially appreciated how helpful & friendly our hosts were. The breakfast snack cart was appreciated as well!
A good value option in a pricy town - Retro, clean and comfy, with a good pool area. When staying in Sedona and not wanting to pay over the odds for a one night stop-over, we opted for this little motel and were pleasantly surprised. It's located right on the main road through town, with parking directly outside the rooms. Check in was quick and easy, and the room was large, comfy and clean. We made use of the nice little pool and hot tub too, and the place wasn't very busy when we stayed (a Monday night in mid-September), so we had it to ourselves for the whole time. There was also the added bonus of a very friendly ginger cat who was strolling around and came to say hi! The place felt safe and secure, and we would stay again, and it wasn't too noisy even with the proximity of the main road. There were a couple of basic food options in walking distance (with a few more further along if you don't mid a bit of a stroll).
Room was clean and comfortable. It felt like a safe place and was dog friendly. Some Asian man forgot to log out of their YouTube premium on the TV so double points to that. Staff were nice, but the bathroom was also small like real small. Overall it is a good place to stay and will probably come here again.
My husband and I had a wonderful weekend stay while in town for a wedding. I'm a sucker for motor inns, but this one takes the cake—a perfect mix of nostalgia and modern amenities that's clean, cool, and cozy. The location and ease of parking were fantastic for our first visit to Sedona. It's minutes from everything in town. The pool and hot tub hit the spot, and the owner is beyond welcoming. I can't wait to go back.
This hotel was so awesome! The staff is incredibly friendly. The prices were reasonable. Rooms were clean, nothing really fancy but that’s all we need in a place to stay. The WiFi was a little sluggish, but it was free and functioning. We had no problem streaming YouTube. I loved the location and walkability to plenty of shops and restaurants. Great hikes are all within short driving distance. We also didn’t experience much road noise at night despite being off the main road. We will definitely be staying here again!
My family of 4 loved this place. The room was clean and quiet. The beds were comfortable. The owners were very welcoming and kind. The hot tub was clean and open late. Breakfast was free and the coffee was hot. The resident cat, Dude, was friendly and soft. Will absolutely return the next time we’re in Sedona. Thanks Thor & Co!
Sugar Loaf Lodge is truly a hidden gem in Sedona. Everything about our stay was fantastic — clean, comfortable, quiet, and exactly the kind of place that makes you feel like you found something special. Thor and the family/team were incredibly kind, respectful, and welcoming. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests and take pride in what they do. It’s the kind of hospitality that’s getting harder to find. The location is super convenient for exploring Sedona, and the property has the cozy, classic lodge vibe with great little touches that make it easy to relax (we also really enjoyed having amenities like the pool/hot tub area and outdoor spaces to unwind). If you’re tired of big, impersonal hotels and want something local, warm, and authentic — stay here. I honestly encourage people to give this place a chance. It deserves more love (and more visitors!). We’ll absolutely be back.
